Update: Lloyd Confirms He’s Not Dating SWV Member Coko Gamble, Says ‘Rumors Are More Exciting Than The Truth’

Update: (Aug. 24, 2023): Lloyd is dating someone, but it’s not his good friend Coko Gamble.

As previously reported, earlier this week the two superstars had the internet going crazy over rumors that they were dating. Apparently, the public labeled Lloyd and Coko Gamble a couple after the “You” singer posted an image to Instagram of himself smiling big next to the SWV phenomenon. He captioned the post,

“My beloved [queen]… all I ever wanna do is shower her with praises and cover her in flowers.”

Coko Gamble’s son did take to his X account (formerly known as Twitter) to shut the rumors down, writing,

“Y’all are weird. They are NOT a couple, NEXT!”

And now Lloyd has spoken out, confirming he’s not in a relationship with Coko. The New Orleans native posted a picture of himself next to his actual partner and said,

“I guess rumors are more exciting than the truth these days… maybe because the truth is so valuable and much harder to come by. #mytriniqueen “

Original story: (Aug. 21, 2023):

Songbirds to lovebirds? Not so fast… no one’s “gambling” on love around these parts!

Well, at least, not SWV’s Coko Gamble and fellow singer Lloyd.

Coko Gamble

Recently, the two entertainers set the internet ablaze after Lloyd shared a flick of him and Coko Gamble posted up on Instagram together.

While the picture itself wasn’t anything romantically suggestive, to the public’s eye, his caption (seemingly) said otherwise.

With the Black queen emoji attached, the “Tru” crooner wrote,

“My beloved. All I ever wanna do is shower her with praises and cover her in flowers.”

Lloyd

In response to his heartfelt words, Gamble commented:

“I love you!!!!!”

If you haven’t heard, this month, SWV performed in Atlanta for the Summer Block Party Tour, which they’re currently on with supergroups Jodeci and Dru Hill.

It appears that Lloyd was in attendance for the concert over the weekend, and he enjoyed the show just as much as everyone else did.

Now… one could assume that Lloyd is a dedicated fan-turned-friend of the legendary songstress, seeing as though he brought her out during his 2021 Millennium Tour set.

Additionally, she’s also sung him Happy Birthday previously, proving that they seem to have a tight rapport with each other.

However, of course, some people didn’t take their latest interaction lightly, and the social media streets were on fire with allegations that Gamble and Lloyd are (potentially) dating.

Following the speculation, Gamble’s son, Jayye Michael, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to set the record straight… once and for all.

Quoting a post from an X user about the rumored pair, he expressed,

“Y’all are weird. They are NOT a couple, NEXT!”

So far, from what we know, 53-year-old Gamble and 37-year-old Lloyd have yet to address the whispers of them being a “thing.”

Talks of a “couple’s connection” strengthened when an Instagram user uploaded a supposed screenshot of Gamble’s Story around the time of their selfie.

But… some shot down the idea of a boo’d-up Gamble and Lloyd by noting that the “Lay It Down” phenomenon actually has a lady of his own.

An individual on X also provided a little bit of a backstory to Lloyd’s lovey-dovey(ness) toward Gamble.

She detailed,

“Lloyd ain’t dating Coko lol. He’s thanking her for the impromptu performance at SWV’s last show when Coko pointed him out in the crowd. Lloyd was at the show with his mom and someone passed him the mic to sing. That’s it. That’s all.”

Although many deem Lloyd and Gamble’s encounter as nothing more than a mutual admiration of each other’s artistry, others are still lifting a few eyebrows.

This is what they had to say about it…
