Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Could Have Previous Rape Case Evidence Used Against Him In Current Lawsuit, According To Journalist Meghann Cuniff
Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty’s legal woes continue to snowball.
Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty’s legal troubles are far from over. This week (Oct. 10), legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff took to X to share an update on the civil lawsuit against Kenneth Petty. Meghann Cuniff shared that Jennifer Hough, the woman suing Kenneth Petty, can not amend her lawsuit to add an attempted rape claim. Still, she can include evidence from the 1995 case where 16-year-old Kenneth Petty was found guilty of sexual assault against her. Meghann Cuniff posted,
“Just in: A woman suing Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, for sexual assault can’t amend her lawsuit to add an attempted rape claim, but she can amend it to include evidence she got from the 1994 criminal case in which she was the victim.”

It’s important to note that this updated ruling is merely a recommendation from a U.S. magistrate judge and will undoubtedly be reviewed by the trial judge. If appealed by Petty’s attorney by Oct. 24 (2023), it can be overturned.

Meghann Cuniff, who’s also known for heavily weighing in on the Megan Thee Stallion shooting trial, also tweeted her belief that the updated ruling is a minor win for Jennifer Hough, stating,
“While this isn’t a total win for the woman suing Petty, she is going to get all the evidence she wants into the case. She can’t add another claim, but she already has seven claims, including sexual assault, so one more claim isn’t crucial. Overall, a win”

This Hough v. Petty lawsuit update could be crucial in proving that not only was Petty guilty back in 1995 when he was convicted of the crimes against Jennifer, but that he may not be innocent of harassment, intimidation, and failing to register in the state of New York as a sex offender, the latter in which he already pleaded guilty. A trial date has yet to be set, but the case has entered discovery with a fact-finding deadline set for Dec. 12.

As previously reported Petty is currently serving a 120-day house detention sentence for violating his probation terms.
