Woman Accusing Diplo Of Distributing Revenge Porn Shares Her Claims Were ‘Thoroughly Investigated, Verified, & Submitted To Prosecutors’

The serious allegations surrounding music producer Diplo continue to grow.

In August, a woman named Shelly Auguste accused Diplo, real name Thomas Pentz, of distributing nude photographs of her without her consent. According to reports, the LAPD submitted her case to the Los Angeles city attorney’s office in November, and it is under review. Auguste is also reportedly suing the music producer for sexual battery, gender violence, intentional intrusion into private affairs, battery, assault, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and fraud, as well as violation of the Ralph Civil Rights Act and violation of the Tom Bane Civil Rights Act.

The pair are due in court in April 2024, according to reports. While addressing her legal battle with Diplo, Auguste expressed on X (formally known as Twitter),

“I did not JUST file a police report. It was thoroughly investigated, verified, & submitted to prosecutors. I was ALSO GRANTED a temporary restraining order against him.”

If Auguste’s name sounds familiar, it may be because she’s been involved in a legal battle with her alleged ex since 2020. That year Auguste filed for – and was granted – a restraining order against Diplo after she accused him for the first time of distributing “revenge porn” images of her. The “Heartless” producer denied her claims, and in 2021 they both reportedly signed a dual restraining order agreement not to disparage each other. In addition, they filed competing lawsuits against one another.

According to Auguste, Diplo first connected with her via Twitter in 2014 when she was only 17 and he was about 36 years old. At the time, their sporadic interactions allegedly centered around her sending him nudes.

According to her suit, they didn’t meet in person until she was 22. Allegedly, when they had sex for the first time Diplo ejaculated inside of Auguste and recorded the intercourse, both actions were reportedly done without her consent. Auguste said that during their second sexual encounter, Diplo penetrated her nonconsensually while she “told [him] ‘no’ and tried to fight him off.”

In the following years, the pair reportedly entered into a toxic back-and-forth cycle, both accusing the other of being the tormentor. In September of this year, Auguste was granted a new temporary restraining order against Diplo, and in October a judge extended the order until December. Diplo tried to get his own restraining order, however, according to reports, his request was denied.

This isn’t the only woman who has come forward with abuse allegations against Diplo. Most recently, last month Azealia Banks claimed he would pressure her into sex in exchange for music beats when she was in the early stages of her career.
