‘Abbott Elementary’ Star Janelle James Slammed Over Resurfaced Clip Of Her Making Jokes About Playing w/ Son’s Genitalia: ‘Call The Authorities Immediately!’

Comedic actress Janelle James is catching a lot of heat online.

The TV star was called out by social media users recently after a resurfaced video of her making jokes about her son’s private parts made its rounds on the internet.

In the clip, Janelle James spoke about her child getting older and realizing his penis had grown quite a bit. The 44-year-old stated:

“My youngest son got a d*ck now…I didn’t know he had a d*ck…I was sitting on the edge of my bed and he ran by from the bathroom…And I was like what the f*ck?…It blew my mind. That’s a d*ck.”

She added:

“That’s a d*ck that need a job…Can’t be walking around with all that d*ck and no income. That’s disrespectful.”

Continuing, the “Abbott Elementary” star reminisced on the time the child used to have a “pee-pee.” James went on to joke about playing with the baby’s private part stating:

“You change the diaper, you play rhythm guitar on the pee-pee…That’s the best part about having a baby boy”

Though it seems the joke was made in jest, many social media users felt uncomfortable and appalled by it. One user wrote:

“Like whyyyyy would you play…with…your sons… ??? OMG! Call the authorities immediately”

While another added:

“my jaw is on the floor. the fact that she’s talking about her own son like that… and then the diaper changing comment???”

Others continued to pile on, suggesting that James‘ remarks – whether a joke or not – were inappropriate. Some users also mentioned the fact that if she was a man speaking about his daughter in the same way, people would be quick to condemn the behavior.

The resurfaced clip came from James‘ standup show that was featured on the third season of Netflix’s original series “The Standups.” Released back in December 2021, the appearance was shortly after the entertainer was first seen in her breakout role as principal Ava on the Quinta Brunson-created ABC show “Abbott Elementary.”

Since its debut, which also came in 2021, the show has gone on to be critically acclaimed and has won several top awards. Even James herself received her first-ever Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actress in a comedy series at the 2023 awards show.

At this time, it doesn’t seem that James‘ nor any of her affiliates have spoken on the backlash from the Netflix special. The episode remains active on the streaming platform and online.
