Jhené Aiko Facing A Lawsuit Over 2022 Car Accident That Left Woman Injured, Singer Accused Of Negligence

The singer is reportedly facing a lawsuit over a car accident that happened two years ago. The alleged incident happened at the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Hayvenhurt Avenue in Encino, California, in July 2022. 

According to multiple reports, the court document said, 

“[Ligot] was stopped at a traffic light when [Aiko] struck [her] from behind. Due to the negligent actions of [Aiko] while operating the motor vehicle, [Ligot] was injured in health, strength, and activity.”

Legal documents also reportedly show Genelle Ligot filed the lawsuit against Jhene Aiko. She’s allegedly suing the singer for damages and demanding a jury trial, which claims Jhene Aiko acted negligently and caused her injuries.

Legal documents also stated that the woman suffered wage loss, paid medical expenses, loss of earning capacity, and more due to the accident that she claimed.

This recent incident isn’t the first time the R&B singer found herself in court. 

In August 2023, Aiko and her boyfriend, rapper Big Sean, filed for a temporary restraining order against an alleged stalker.

The couple sought legal intervention to obtain a temporary restraining order against Ian Craig Lees. Aiko reportedly “feared for her life” as Ian Craig Lees appeared at multiple events and concerts and had even trespassed into her and Big Sean’s Pacific Palisades residence. However, a judge denied Aiko’s request for a TRO in August 2023.

The pair has been in a relationship on and off since 2016. Aiko and Big Sean, born Sean Anderson, welcomed their first child together in 2022, Noah Hasani.

At that time, the Detroit rapper expressed, 

“After 24 hours of Labor, A Lunar Eclipse, with rain from the beginning of labor til he was born, he’s here safe and sound. Happy, Healthy and everything we could ever ask for and more. Any and everything for you Son. Noah. 11/8/22”

On Aiko’s Instagram 10 days after the birth of her son, she gushed, 

“11/08/22. after 24 hours of labor, a total lunar eclipse, and while it was pouring rain…he came. my baby Yoda, my Sani.”

Noah Hasani joins Aiko’s daughter, Namiko Love, whom she shares with ex-O’Ryan.
