Update: Jamie Foxx Set To Return To ‘Beat Shazam’ Hosting Duties After Taking Season Off Due To Medical Emergency

Update #3: (Mar. 4, 2024): Jamie Foxx is back!

We recently reported that the actor shared plans to return to standup following his medical scare that made national headlines last year. There were plenty of theories about what was wrong with Jamie, but, according to the actor, we’ll have to wait for him to hit a comedy stage soon to tell us “in a funny way” what really occurred.

Jamie’s comeback to standup isn’t the only thing his fans should be excited about. New reports revealed he’s also returning to his “Beat Shazam” hosting job. You may recall that Nick Cannon took over as host during his time away. Jamie’s co-host/daughter Corinne Foxx, who was temporarily replaced by Kelly Osbourne amid her father’s hiatus, is also slated to return.

Fox Entertainment’s unscripted prexy Allison Wallach said in a statement,

“Jamie and Corinne are the heart and soul of Beat Shazam. As our undeniably dynamic father-daughter hosting team, they bring a relationship like no other to a show like no other, and it’s wonderful having them back on set this season.”

Original story: (May 3, 2023): Another project is moving forward without Jamie Foxx as he deals with a health issue.

According to reports, the new season of “Beat Shazam” will look a little different. The Fox series is a musical game show where players compete for a large monetary prize by identifying songs. Jamie Foxx is one of the executive producers for the project and he also serves as the host alongside his daughter Corinne Foxx.

However, new reports are claiming that filming for the upcoming season of the game show has kicked off and the “Collateral” actor has been replaced as the host due to the fact that he remains in the hospital and is unable to film.

Corinne Foxx has reportedly decided that she won’t be on season six of the show– set to air on May 23 – so she can stick by her father’s side during his recovery.

According to reports, sources close to Jamie Foxx have shared that he needs all the prayers he can get from fans, pleading with his supporters to “pray for Jamie.”

As you may recall, the Oscar-winning actor wasn’t able to appear on set for the final days of filming for his upcoming project “Back In Action” because he was admitted to an Atlanta hospital for a “medical complication” last month.

The reason for his hospitalization remains undisclosed. Initially, producers put the movie on pause, however, filming eventually resumed and Jamie’s remaining scenes were reportedly filmed with a body double.

As previously reported, on Apr. 12 Corinne Foxx announced the shocking news that Jamie was in the hospital. However, she didn’t provide in-depth details about what happened to her famous father. Corinne, 29, wrote:

“From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”

She added:

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.

Much love,

The Foxx Family.”

Days after his hospitalization, insiders close to the 55-year-old comedian gave an update on his health and revealed that he’s “doing a lot better.”

In addition, they said that the “Ray” actor is “communicating now, and that’s good news.”

theJasmineBRAND continues to send our well wishes to Jamie Foxx.
