Draya Michele Seemingly Addresses Backlash Over Having Baby w/ 22-Year-Old NBA Star Jalen Green, Reposts Cryptic IG Story: ‘Get Comfortable Being Misunderstood’

Draya Michele shared a cryptic Instagram Story after announcing she was expecting her first baby with NBA star Jalen Green.

The model reposted an X message on her Instagram Story that’s now expired. It read, 

“Get comfortable being misunderstood. Only a fraction of people will be able to truly grasp your essence. You are not on anyone else’s timeline of comprehension. Also, it’s none of your business how others choose to perceive you. Most High sees you clearly – let that be enough.”

Fans believed the repost was in response to the backlash she received because of her and her boyfriend Jalen Green’s 17-year-old age gap. Draya Michele has also faced criticism regarding their age gap because her son, Knicko Howard, is also 22. Because of this, some fans labeled Draya Michele as a “predator” for having a baby with a younger man. Still, some fans sided with Draya, pointing out that she and Jalen Green are both adults.

The Basketball Wives LA alum recently announced on Instagram that she was expecting a baby girl with the Houston Rockets player. She posted multiple maternity pictures in honor of International Women’s Day on Friday (March 8). See a few mixed reactions below.

In her announcement, she wrote,

“As women, we navigate through so much, often leading us to question, ‘What is my purpose?’ For me, the magic lies in motherhood and the awe-inspiring ability to bring life into this world over the span of two decades. It’s my superpower. And if anything can surpass the wonder of being a woman, it’s the privilege of bringing another woman into existence.”

And continued,

“We are overjoyed to share our love for you, little girl. I’m am excited to speak words to the daughter I never thought I’d have. We are anxious about your arrival, but take your time — this world can be tough. But know you are being brought into a space of love, security, and adornment.”
