Sage Steele To Replace Candace Owens In The Daily Wire’s Upcoming Animated Series After Owens Was Fired From The Conservative Media Company

Update (April 26, 2024): About a month after Candace Owens was fired from conservative media company Daily Caller, Sage Steele has been named as her replacement in its forthcoming adult cartoon series, Mr. Birchum. It’s about a stern and rigid Teddy Roosevelt Junior High teacher and his family.

Sage Steele said of starring in the show:

“When I got the call from Adam and the Daily Wire team to be part of Mr. Birchum, it was a no-brainer for me! I’m a huge fan of everyone involved and am honored to be included in such a powerhouse lineup of comedians. In this insane cultural moment, it’s more important than ever to speak the truth, even when it’s unpopular. Mr. Birchum does this in such a hilarious fashion, and I’m thrilled to be part of such a fun, unapologetic project.”

Sage Steele, who infamously sued and later settled with her former employer ESPN after she called out its COVID-19 vaccine mandates, is slated to lend her voice as Deena, who is wife of the title character’s best friend Gage. Series creator Adam Carolla will portray Mr. Birchum.

Megyn Kelly and Roseanne Barr are also in the series with Brett Cooper, Roseanne Barr, Danny Trejo, Rob Riggle, Patrick Warburton, Tyler Fischer, Alonzo Bodden, Kyle Dunnigan, and Jay Mohr.

Original Story (March 22, 2024): Candace Owens is no longer with the news and media company Daily Wire.

The CEO, Jeremy Boreing, revealed the decision on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, March 22, writing,

“Daily Wire and Candace Owens have ended their relationship.”
Candace Owens, who joined the Daily Wire in 2021, confirmed the news on X and quipped,
“The rumors are true— I am finally free.”
She added how fans can continue to support her, later noting that she’d also be reviving her personal YouTube channel, where she’ll be dishing out her own commentary on hot-button topics, “after a brief hiatus.”
Interestingly enough, the announcement came one day after Owens appeared on The Breakfast Club and discussed her relationship with Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro. She had reportedly used her Daily Wire platform to make remarks that were deemed antisemitic about the Israel-Hamas war, sparking tension between her and the company.
Still, she told co-hosts DJ Envy, Charlamagne, and Jess Hilarious Thursday (March 21),
“Ben doesn’t have the power to fire me. And it’s not even saying that we disagree on Israel and Palestine. I just think that he’s — obviously, his wife is Israeli. He spends a lot of time in Israel throughout the year. I think when you have an emotional attachment to some place, that sometimes your reaction to anything is going to be more extreme to it. You know?”

Owens’ self-titled show aired weekdays at 2PM CT. Per Daily Wire’s website,
“Candace Owens holds nothing back in her show as she takes on the political and cultural issues of the day. Featuring deep dives, investigations, and exposés on today’s burning topics.”
