Simon Guobadia Threatens To Have Porsha Williams Sanctioned Should She Delete Text Messages w/ Another Man Amid Heated Divorce
Looks like Simon Guobadia isn’t backing down from his divorce settlement case.
Reports state that the businessman recently sent a notice to his estranged wife Porsha Williams, threatening to sanction her if she deletes any of her communication records.
Court documents obtained by Radar Online reportedly revealed that Simon Guobadia demanded that Porsha Williams not get rid of any of her phone and text records related to their divorce case. The entrepreneur specifically wrote that the RHOA star should keep all communications she had with a man named Kelvin Owusu-Ansah, all texts between Williams and a woman named Karen McKinney, as well as texts between Williams and her sister Lauren.
Guobadia added that Williams should also keep all communications and relevant evidence between the former love birds, including their phone and text records, her income and financial records as well as other things, writing in the notice:
“[Porsha] is further notified that a failure to comply with this notice may result in sanctions for any destruction or failures to preserve any such evidence, including without limitation adverse inferences against Petitioner at trial, sanctions, as well as an award of expenses and attorney fees necessitated by such conduct.”
At this time, Guobadia’s reasons for making the request have not been made clear. However, it’s noted that the notice comes shortly after Williams accused her soon-to-be ex-husband of violating the terms of their prenup by changing the locks on their Georgia home. As recently covered, Guobadia accused Williams of showing up to their marital home last week with two armed men for “reasons unknown” to him. He claimed he had to contact the police to keep the situation de-escalated.
Afterward, Williams claimed in her own court filing that Guobadia changed the locks on their home to prevent her access, and fled to Dubai so she couldn’t confront him. The TV star argued that Guobadia’s “vindictive” actions directly went against the terms of their prenup, which states that in the event of divorce, Guobadia would leave the marital property within 30 days of filing – the 22nd of March. An excerpt from the document reads:
“Upon an Event of Dissolution, PORSHA shall have the right to remain in and occupy the Marital Residence (including up to the date the Marital Residence is sold, if the Marital Residence is sold). Upon the Event of Dissolution, SIMON shall physically vacate (i.e., cease living in) the Marital Residence within thirty (30) days. Provided, however, SIMON shall be permitted to leave his personal property (e.g., vehicles) in the Marital Residence for a period of up to six (6) months from the Event of Dissolution.”
However, Guobadia’s attorneys reportedly responded that the businessman plans to stay in the home with his children until their divorce settlement has been reached, writing:
“Mr. Guobadia intends to maintain the status quo and continue to occupy the Marital Residence with his children until such time that the parties have resolved the issues in this case and there is a court order regarding the same. As such, Mr. Guobadia will not vacate the property on March 22, 2024,”
As we’ve been covering, Williams filed the bombshell dissolution of marriage request on the 22nd of last month. At this time, the exact nature of the split has not been made public. However, the breakup came on the heels of Guobadia being denied U.S. citizenship over alleged identity crimes he’s said to have committed in his young adult years. Though sources have reported that had nothing to do with the split.
We will continue to update you as the case moves forward.
