Candiace Dillard Bassett Radiates In Red As She Debuts Her Baby Bump

Candiace Dillard Bassett is in pregnancy bliss.

The former Real Housewives of Potomac star, 37, proudly flaunted her baby bump at the GRAMMYs on the Hill Awards (April 30). The event celebrates music and advocacy, with this year’s honorees including Sheryl Crow and Senators John Cornyn and Amy Klobuchar.

Candiace Dillard Bassett, who announced her pregnancy two weeks ago (April 15) during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, looked stunning in a gorgeous red gown as she graced the red carpet. In the interview, she revealed she was about 13 weeks along and feeling great about becoming a mom.

Candiace Dillard Bassett and Chris Bassett wed in 2018 and started IVF treatments a few years later, which was documented on the hit Bravo series. Despite initial uncertainty about having children, they froze embryos, and two years later, decided to move forward with implantation.

“I kind of woke up and realized that I was never going to be 100 percent ready. I just had to … trust the process and trust my doctors and stop being afraid and just do it. So once we decided together that we were going to do that — together — it just was kind of all moving by faith from there.”

Candiace underwent implantation in January, and the couple found out they were pregnant two weeks later.

Candiace’s baby bump debut marks one of her first public appearances since leaving RHOP. As she bid farewell to the show last month, she expressed gratitude for the friendships and personal growth, promising fans it’s not a goodbye, but a see you later. She said in a statement to People Magazine, 

“I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey.”

She continued,

“With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP … This is not a farewell, but a see you later.”

New responsibilities indeed, congratulations to Candiace and Chris!
