‘RHOA’ Alum Kandi Burruss Speaks On Cast Shakeup & Shares What She’ll Miss Most About Being Part Of The Series
Kandi Burruss is excited to pass the Real Housewives Of Atlanta torch to the new peach holders!
The official cast list for season 16 of RHOA has been revealed. As we recently reported, viewers of the Bravo reality series can expect to see Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams, and Drew Sidora joined by first-time peach holders Shamea Morton Mwangi (previously a friend of the show), Brittany Eady, Kelli Ferrell, Angela Oakley, and Cynthia Bailey, who is returning as a series friend.

During a recent red-carpet interview at the 90th Annual Drama League Awards, Kandi Burruss broke her silence on the cast shake-up and shared what she’ll miss most about being on RHOA. As you may recall, earlier this year, before the cast announcement, Kandi Burruss shocked many by sharing she had no plans to return to the Housewife franchise.
Speaking on what she will and will not miss about being a full-time cast member, Kandi said,
“I’m not necessarily gonna miss that stress. They started filming this week. I was talking to one of them—I can’t say who it was—but she was like, ‘Girl, it’s just a lot.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t know if I missed that part.’ I forgot about that first stress of getting the ball rolling when you’re meeting new people.”
She continued,
“You don’t necessarily miss the stress or the work, but you miss the camaraderie part and knowing that you are part of something great. Because at the end of the day, no matter how much drama it was, my 14 seasons on that franchise a lot of great things came from it.”

Elsewhere during the interview, Kandi addressed some of her feelings for the finalized cast and shared,
“I’m excited for Shamea, who is our friend. I’m glad it’s announced so I don’t have to keep secrets anymore. I’m gonna be watching because my friends are still on the show.”
She continued, speaking on Porsha Williams’ highly anticipated return,
“I already knew she was going back before she announced it. We both had talked about our decisions, what we were thinking about doing. I was telling her I didn’t know if I was going to go back. She was telling me how she was thinking she might go back. So we knew. I am excited for her.”
