NFL Rookie Khyree Jackson & 2 Former High School Teammates Killed In Tragic Car Crash [CONDOLENCES]
Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson and two of his former high school teammates were tragically killed in a car crash early Saturday morning (July 6) in Maryland, which left their vehicle completely totaled, according to new reports.
The crash, which occurred in Upper Marlboro around 3:15 a.m., involved three vehicles: a maroon Dodge Charger, a silver Infiniti Q50, and a silver Chevrolet Impala.
Khyree Jackson, 24, was the front seat passenger in the Charger driven by Isaiah Hazel, 23, with Anthony Lytton, Jr., 24, seated in the rear.
Maryland State Police said that the driver of the Infiniti, who was reportedly traveling at a high speed, attempted to change lanes and struck the Charger before hitting the Impala. Investigators believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
The impact caused the Charger to veer off the road and collide with multiple tree stumps, completely flattening the vehicle and severing the rear from the rest of the car.

Khyree Jackson and Isaiah Hazel were pronounced dead at the scene, while Anthony Lytton was transported to a local hospital, where he later passed away.
The driver and passengers of the Infiniti, as well as the driver of the Impala, were not injured.
Khyree Jackson, a standout at University of Oregon, was drafted 108th overall by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell expressed his grief in a statement, saying,
“I am absolutely crushed by this news. Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and our team. His confidence and engaging personality immediately drew his teammates to him. In our short time together, it was evident Khyree was going to develop into a tremendous professional football player, but what was more impressive was his desire to become the best person he could be for his family and those around him. I am at a loss for words. My heart goes out to Khyree’s family, friends, teammates, and coaches.”
Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah also paid tribute, stating,
“I am heartbroken by the loss of Khyree. As we got to know him throughout the pre-draft process, it was clear the goals Khyree wanted to accomplish both professionally and personally. His story was one of resilience. He was taking steps to become the best version of himself not just for him, but for those who cared about and looked up to him.”
Isaiah Hazel played college football at Maryland and Charlotte, while Anthony Lytton, Jr. played at Florida State and Penn State. The three athletes were celebrated champions at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School.
With Maryland State Police indicating alcohol may have played a role in the crash, they are considering potential charges against the driver of the Infiniti.
Condolences to the friends and family of Khyree Jackson, Isaiah Hazel, and Anthony Lytton, Jr. Feel free to share your thoughts and memories in the comments below.
