Montel Williams Warns Press To ‘Think Twice’ Before Bringing Up His Previous Brief Relationship w/ Kamala Harris Amid Her Presidential Campaign

Former talk show host Montel Williams is warning reporters not to bombard him with questions about his previous relationship with Vice President Kamala Harris.

As you may already know, news broke over the weekend that President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential election race and endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party nominee.

Following the historic news, it didn’t take long for the media to dig up old photos and footage of Montel Williams and Kamala Harris from when they dated in 2001.

Back in 2019, the daytime TV personality shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) defending Kamala’s candidacy for Vice President. He also noted that he had “great respect” for the now VP.

The 69-year-old wrote,

“@KamalaHarris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single. So what? I have great respect for Sen. Harris. I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate?”

More recently, Montel has taken a similar stance regarding the latest resurfaced footage circulating of the two at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, California in May 2001. He reportedly shared,

“I’ve said what I’m going to say about the thing that keeps trending. My friends in the media should think twice about wasting time on a 20+ year old picture – you will find doing so will earn an unpleasant reaction.”

On the political side of things, it’s reported that Montel will be backing Kamala, 59, as the next POTUS. According to the actor, he’ll vote for whoever can defeat GOP nominee Donald Trump in the upcoming election on November 5. Montel also showed his willingness to support Kamala by reminding users that he retweeted a Kamala endorsement message from Maryland Governor Wes Moore.

Kamala is now married to Doug Emhoff. They tied the knot in 2014.

Montel proposed to his wife Tara Fowler on July 12, 2006, and the two married in 2020.
