Gary Coleman’s Biopic Will Explore Suspicion Around The Actor’s Passing, His Strained Marriage, & Bouts W/ Depression
Late comedian Gary Coleman’s upcoming biopic will highlight many of his life struggles.
A near 2-minute trailer of the project recently released offered a glimpse into the entertainer’s rise to stardom, and also touched on the hardships he endured leading up to his early death in 2010 at 42-years-old.

This week, Peacock released a preview of the project titled Gary, which will be available to watch beginning on the 29th of this month. The movie will cover the life of Gary Coleman, who became a high-profile child star in the late 1970s and 1980s with his breakout role on the iconic sitcom Diff’rent Strokes, and carried his comedic career into his troubled adulthood.

A synopsis of the film states:
“Gary sheds a new light on the star’s life and explores the controversy surrounding his tragic death at the age of 42. Viewers will get insight into Coleman’s lifelong illness and depression, his financial troubles, tumultuous marriage, and his heartbreaking demise.”
The documentary will consist of exclusive interviews with Coleman’s fellow actor, Todd Bridges, his former managers, estranged adopted parents, as well as his ex-wife Shannon Price. Despite her involvement in the project, the clip certainly doubles down on prior speculations about the way Coleman passed, specifically regarding Shannon Price’s involvement. If you recall, the actor died after allegedly falling in his home while Price was present, and passed away after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
A subsequent 911 call from Price to police fueled speculations about her involvement, as she appeared insistently resistent to help Coleman before medics arrived. Coleman wedded his then spouse in 2007 and had a “tumultuous’ relationship with her, according to the documentary clip, up until they divorced in 2008.

It appears the actor’s death, health struggles, along with his financial troubles and bouts of depression, will all be discussed in the coming movie.
