Tyrese Says He’s ‘Stressed Out’ Over Ex-Wife’s Attempt To Increase Child Support Payments

Tyrese is feeling the pressure as his ongoing child support battle with ex-wife Samantha Lee Gibson heats up.

In a recent social media video, the singer and actor opened up about the toll the legal drama is taking on him:

“I just got another letter from her lawyers requesting that I send over all of my tax returns and all of my bank statements because she’s trying to get $20,000, and I think they’re trying to take it up to like $40[k]. They’ve been looking at all of my movies, all of the concerts and shows that I’m doing… and they’re over there like bloodsucking lawyers, rubbing their hands. Samantha is doing the same thing.”

Tyrese expressed frustration over the demands, pointing out that his ex-wife, who divorced him four years ago, is financially stable:

“She divorced me 4 years ago, and she makes over $100,000 a year. Close to 150, 160 at this point, because of all of her Instagram and social media. They [Samantha’s lawyers] asked her to give them $5,000 because she married a celebrity, a high-net-worth individual, and they’re over there rubbing their hands, banking on a pot of gold.”

Clearly overwhelmed by the situation, Tyrese concluded,

“I’m stressed the f*** out. This is a dirty f****** game.”

The tension around the child support case is set to escalate, with an appeals court expected to render an outcome on August 25th.

Tyrese also seemingly addressed the emotional toll of the divorce during a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, emphasizing the need for emotional support for men:

“Black men cry. When a divorce happens, women aren’t the only ones devastated. When a miscarriage happens, women aren’t the only ones you should be checking on. When you can’t put food on the table because your career goes up and then it goes down, stop skipping over the man and just checking on the woman.”

Tyrese and Samantha Lee’s contentious divorce has been making headlines for years, with multiple motions filed over child support payments for their daughter Soraya Gibson, 4. Samantha Lee has previously accused Tyrese of failing to meet his financial obligations, leading to a series of legal battles between the former couple.
