Adele Announces ‘Incredibly Long’ Break From Music Amid Claims She Wants A Baby Girl w/ Fiancé Rich Paul

Adele is stepping away from the spotlight for the unforeseen future.

The 36-year-old singer announced that she will take an extended break from music after her Las Vegas residency concludes in November.

During a recent performance in Munich, Germany, Adele shared the news with her fans, saying,

“I have 10 shows to do, but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart.”

Fans have speculated that Adele’s hiatus is tied to her upcoming marriage to fiancé Rich Paul, a 42-year-old sports agent. Adele confirmed their engagement last month during another Munich show, responding to a fan’s proposal sign by saying,

“I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married, but I appreciate it.”

Adele has also mentioned her eagerness to expand her family, which may be a factor in her upcoming hiatus. Back in May, she shared that she plans to have a baby with Rich Paul once she’s completed her professional commitments:

“Once I’m done with all of my obligations and all of my shows, I want to have a baby. And I want to have a girl because I’ve already got a boy.”

Adele shares 11-year-old Angelo with her ex-husband Simon Kolecki.

This isn’t the first time Adele has spoken about taking a break from her music career. In July, she told a German media outlet,

“I don’t have any plans for new music at all… I want a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”

An extended break seems well-deserved after Adele’s massively successful Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which began in November 2022 and is set to wrap up on November 23. This comes alongside a slew of international dates and her wildly popular album 30, released in 2021.
