Ice Spice’s Dad & Manager Defend Her After She’s Exposed By Cleotrapa For Alleged Tour Mistreatment: ‘Public Bashing Means Therapy Is Needed’
Ice Spice’s team is doing damage control after she was put on blast by her former friend, fellow rapper Cleotrapa.
Unless you live under a rock, we’re sure you’re aware of Cleotrapa’s 6-part TikTok series where she broke down why she decided to pull the plug on her friendship with Ice Spice. The “Rockstar” artist said a lot, but her more serious allegations surrounding the recently wrapped US leg of Ice Spice’s Y2K! Tour included claims that she wasn’t paid, had to carry her own bags, and was purposely isolated by Ice Spice. Cleotrapa also alleged that despite Ice Spice personally inviting her on the tour and saying she would be taken care of, Cleotrapa learned after the fact she had to come out of her own pocket for food and hotel stays.

Ice Spice has already taken to her X account to somewhat address what Cleotrapa had to say. Unfortunately for the Grammy-nominated artist, this isn’t the first time she’s been slammed by an ex-friend and many have already taken Cleotrapa’s side. Coming forward to defend Ice Spice against the backlash she’s received, her manager, James Rosemond Jr., took to X and fired off several posts.
Starting things off by placing the blame on Cleotrapa’s team, he wrote,
“An artist (and their team) needs to know what to do when these opportunities come their way. They need to know how to leverage it to advance their career. But some artists just don’t know how to come out with HITS so they crash out and go on rants.”
And continued,
“This is what happens when an artist’s team dont manage their artists expectations when an opportunity comes in front of them. If you not prepared for an opportunity and your team isn’t properly advancing then that’s on them. Not on us offering the opportunity.”

Elsewhere during the posts, he said,
“Two artists can’t speak on logistics & business & agree on it same day w/o proper representation thoroughly talking through. Mgmt needed to properly advise their client & get ahead of any potential hiccups. I’m NOT allowing my client go out on the road without me advancing it.”

James Rosemond Jr. also claimed he spoke to Cleotrapa’s manager this morning and said he “blames himself becuz he pushed his client to stay becuz it was a great opportunity…but he knows his client is 100% wrong.”

James Rosemond Jr. went on to note that the entire situation should have been handled privately. He added,
“The public bashing just means therapy is needed.”

Ice Spice’s dad also took to his own X account to debunk claims from Cleotrapa that he’s Hispanic and not Nigerian, as his daughter has previously claimed. Mentioning Cleotrapa directly, he said,
“@iamcleotrapa we met twice in the green room. We barely spoke, who said I’m Hispanic?”

In a separate post, he noted that he knows he’s Nigerian because he took an ancestry test.
