D.L. Hughley Faces Backlash After Coming For Janet Jackson Over Her Kamala Harris Comments: ‘You’re Breathing Through The Nose Of A White Woman’

D.L. Hughley is standing for Kamala Harris, even against Janet Jackson.

For a brief recap, Janet Jackson recently alleged in an interview that she heard Kamala Harris’ father was white, despite the presidential hopeful being open about her father being Jamaican. Her mother is Indian. Although Janet Jackson appeared to apologize for her remarks, her team later clarified that the apology was unauthorized, and the person who released it no longer works for the Grammy winner.

Meanwhile, D.L. Hughley has been very vocal about sharing his thoughts on Janet’s controversial remarks.

He first laughed at one fan who said they “question” Janet’s “singing ability.

He later compared Janet Jackson and Kamala Harris’ appearance and wrote,

“All I know is #Kamala looks like she did when she was in Oakland! But Janet don’t look like she did when she was Penny! What the hell was in that iron??”

When one fan called him out for blasting Janet simply because he disagreed, D.L. Hughley explained,

“Hey dumba** this has nothing to do with agreeing or not! Her dad is black as a point of fact!! What she said was just as stupid as the sh*t you’re saying now!!”

He continued to insult Janet Jackson’s appearance and wrote,

“#JanetJacksons interview sounded like a #Trump rally! FYI!! It’s a little ironic to question whether someone is black while you’re breathing through the nose of a white woman! #TeamDl“

He later explained on Instagram why he went so hard.

“What she said was just as harmful as the bullsh*t rhetoric spread by #AmberRose and #CandaceOwens so why are we so quick to want to give a pass or brush it off? She could have easily shared her support for her as a woman first. If you admit you don’t know something, you should probably not speak on it. It’s possible to be a fan of somebody and still call them out on their bullsh*t. Happens to me all the time.????? #TeamDL“

Although D.L. is standing strong on his stance, he trended on X (formerly Twitter) Monday morning (Sept. 23), as fans called him out for his comments.

One wrote,

“Yeah DL Hughley needs hands and feet put on him. It’s one thing to shill for the Democrats, but to disrespect Janet Jackson, a Black American icon, over an Indian lady is wild disrespectful.”

“Ok, DL Hughley is really showing his a** out and still talking sh*t about Janet. A grown a** male whose own career has been in a drought, that hasn’t seen a raindrop in years.”
