The next vice president of the United States, JD Vance, issued his first statement following Donald Trump’s election win.
In a message posted to his X account, the 40-year-old Ohio native wrote:
“THANK YOU!
To my beautiful wife for making it possible to do this.
To President Donald J. Trump, for giving me such an opportunity to serve our country at this level.
And to the American people, for their trust. I will never stop fighting for ALL of you”

Trump and Vance secured a landslide victory against sitting VP Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Waltz for the presidency, and are set to take the White House this coming January.
