50 Cent Shares How He Revamped Nelly’s ‘Hot In Herre’ For Lloyd Banks’ ‘On Fire’
50 Cent is admitting to borrowing a little inspiration from Nelly when creating Lloyd Banks’ hit “On Fire.”
During an interview with Hot 97, 50 Cent opened up about how he took cues from Nelly’s 2002 smash “Hot In Herre” to craft the 2004 track. He said,
“I would be able to look at someone else’s record and make my version of the record when the right production came around, and it would be a hit again.”

50 then demonstrated how similar the two tracks are by rapping the hook to “Hot In Herre” before seamlessly transitioning into the chorus of “On Fire.” He acknowledged,
“It’s the same record. It’s just new melodies, new production and let Banks do it.”
