Keith Lee Video Sparks Controversy Leading To Seattle Restaurant Closure
FOB Sushi Bar in Seattle has closed its doors indefinitely after a viral TikTok review by Keith Lee ignited major food safety concerns.
The restaurant released a statement saying:
“In response to recent food safety concerns, we have decided to close our FOB Sushi locations in Seattle and Bellevue until further notice.”
It all started when Keith Lee posted a video reviewing sushi from FOB Sushi Bar. In the clip, followers spotted movement in one piece of sushi, with some alleging it was worms. FOB Sushi quickly denied the claims, stating on social media that the movement was “false” and could be attributed to “natural elasticity or pressure of the chopsticks” when applied to the structure of the food.
Keith Lee later responded in a follow-up video, sharing that he didn’t notice the movement while filming but was told someone who visited the restaurant after his video ended up hospitalized. He also called out the restaurant’s explanation, disagreeing with their claim that his chopsticks caused the movement.
