Eminem’s Mother Debbie Nelson Passes Away At 69
Sad news!
The estranged mother of rapper Eminem, Debbie Nelson, has passed away. TMZ reports that Nelson passed yesterday (Dec. 2) at the age of 69 following a battle with lung cancer. As reported, in September news broke that Nelson was “terminally ill with advanced lung cancer.”
At the time, a source close to Nelson shared with In Touch:
“There are not many options [for Debbie]. She is currently staying between the cancer center and with family members. She has a very limited amount of time [left].”
They continued, noting that Eminem was “good to his mom,” despite their rocky relationship and lack of communication.
“People around her aren’t even sure if Eminem is even aware of what is happening to his mother. He’s good to his mom. He makes sure he takes care of her, but they don’t really talk. It would be good for both of them [to communicate]. This could give them the chance to reconcile.”
Eminem’s father, Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr., who he was also estranged from, passed in 2019 at 67.
