Ex Kansas City Detective Accused Of Ab*sing Black Women Found D*ad Before Trial Begins

Roger Golubski’s trial will never see a courtroom.

On Monday (Dec. 2), the ex-Kansas City detective, accused of s*xually ab*sing Black women and leveraging his power to terrorize those who fought back, was found d*ad of a g*nshot wound on the porch of his home. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation confirmed the 71-year-old’s de*th was a su*cide, with “no indications of foul play.”

Golubski, who pleaded not guilty to six felony counts of violating women’s civil rights, was due in federal court in Topeka the same morning. Prosecutors had prepared testimony from two accusers, one alleging ab*se as a teen and another claiming Golubski preyed on her after her twin sons’ arrests.

Attorney Cheryl Pilate, who represents some of Golubski’s accusers, called his d*ath a blow to accountability:

“Now, the victims, the community, and justice itself have been cheated.”
