Chipotle Files Police Report After Employee Was Left ‘Traumatized’ Following Physical Altercation Over Incorrect Order
Following a viral video showing a woman confronting a Chipotle employee over an order discrepancy, the Mexican Grill chain and the employee both filed police reports.
The incident, which occurred at a Chipotle in Brentwood, Maryland, began when the customer claimed her UberEats order was wrong and demanded a refund. After the employee and his manager explained that refunds had to be processed by Uber, things escalated. The woman went behind the counter, took two bowls, and threw one at employee Roberto Hernandez when he tried to stop her.

In an emotional interview, Hernandez said he was “traumatized” by the attack but felt conflicted as he didn’t want to retaliate against the woman.
Later, the customer told WUSA9 that she felt somewhat remorseful but still believed her actions were justified, claiming that Chipotle had “stolen her property” and should have remade the order. She stated:
“I’m not saying what I did was right, but I’m not saying what I did was wrong. I was right to a certain extent.”
Chipotle released a statement expressing its commitment to employee safety and cooperation with law enforcement, adding that they do not condone the mistreatment of its team members.
The woman plans to sue Chipotle, though it’s unclear if charges will be pressed.
