Plane Crashes Into California Building, Leaving 2 De@d And 18 Injured
A small plane crashed into a commercial building in Fullerton, California, on Thursday, killing two people and injuring 18, police said.
The crash occurred at 2:09 p.m. near Fullerton Municipal Airport, with the plane striking the rooftop of a furniture upholstery warehouse, sparking a fire. Firefighters evacuated surrounding businesses and contained the blaze, which damaged sewing machines and textile stock inside the building.
Ten people were hospitalized, while eight were treated at the scene. It’s unclear whether the victims were in the plane or on the ground.
Security footage showed the single-engine aircraft tilting before crashing, erupting in flames just minutes after takeoff. Fullerton, located 25 miles southeast of Los Angeles, has experienced similar crashes, including one last year near the same airport.
