The highly anticipated film adaptation of the fantasy novel “Children of Blood and Bone” is set to star “Snowfall” actor Damson Idris, “Hunger Games” actress Amandla Stenberg, “The Woman King” star Thuso Mbedu, and “Supacell” actor Tosin Cole.
The movie is officially in the works and scheduled to hit theaters on January 15, 2027!
Directed by “Love & Basketball” creator Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film is based on Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel, which has sold nearly three million copies worldwide across its three installments, earning critical acclaim along the way.

The story follows a brave young woman named Zélie (Mbedu) and her brother Tzain (Cole) as they join forces with the children of a merciless king—Princess Amari (Stenberg) and Prince Inan (Idris)—to restore the magic of Zélie’s people while battling oppression.
Adding to the excitement, legends like Viola Davis, Cynthia Erivo, Idris Elba, and Chiwetel Ejiofor will also appear, rounding out the film’s all-star ensemble cast.
Production is set to begin soon in South Africa, promising breathtaking visuals and compelling storytelling.
