Akademiks Reportedly Banned From Twitch Following Explicit Conversation w/ 15-Year-Old Streamer
DJ Akademiks has reportedly been banned from Twitch, just days after facing public backlash for making inappropriate comments toward a 15-year-old streamer.
The well-known podcast host’s Twitch channel was reportedly disabled earlier today, January 28, with a message on his profile reading:
“This channel is currently unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s community guidelines or terms of service.”
Some viewers claim to have found code in Akademiks’ profile suggesting that the ban is “indefinite,” but the platform has not yet confirmed how long the suspension will last.

The situation follows a controversial conversation Akademiks had with a 15-year-old broadcaster and another streamer, PlaqueBoyMax, during which Akademiks made inappropriate comments, asking the minor about a hypothetical sexual situation involving Max.
The remark was quickly deemed “nasty” and “very weird” by PlaqueBoyMax, which led to a public exchange of words between the two.

In an attempt to address the situation, Akademiks went live to explain his side. He apologized to the young streamer but continued to criticize PlaqueBoyMax’s community, calling it “toxic.” He stated:
“Definitely a regrettable moment, and we’re gonna use that as a teachable moment.”
Adding:
“I don’t think I came this far, built this platform, to be that irresponsible. I got nothing against Max. I said what I had to say last night. I stand on every word, but I have nothing against Max…I do think his community is toxic.”
Despite his apology, Akademiks’ response sparked mixed reactions, with many of PlaqueBoyMax’s fans refusing to accept it.
As of now, Akademiks has not publicly responded to the reported suspension.
