Wendy Williams Says Her Son Kevin Hunter Jr. ‘Inappropriately’ Withdrew Large Sums Of Money From Her Accounts Triggering Guardianship

Wendy Williams was overcome with emotions while revealing the role her son Kevin Hunter Jr. played in her controversial court-ordered guardianship.

In the Tubi documentary, “TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy,” released earlier today (Feb. 12), the former talk show host opened up about the matter, stating:

“My son overstepped his boundaries… He was inappropriately using my money without telling me crap about it. Like, is he stealing from me?”

Wendy went on to imply that Kevin Jr.’s actions led to her financial accounts being frozen by Wells Fargo—a move that ultimately led to her being placed under a restrictive guardianship. She added:

“All I know is that’s when my money got frozen. And thank God, no more money stealing from my son and the other people.”

Wendy also revealed that in 2022, while staying with Kevin Jr. in Miami, she was cut off from her finances because he had possession of her phone—making it impossible for her to respond to Wells Fargo’s fraud alerts.

She further detailed how over $100,000 was spent on her American Express card, and that her son even rented a yacht for his 21st birthday—a lavish expense totaling $113,000. But that wasn’t all. Wendy additionally claimed a woman impersonated her in an attempt to steal even more money, and shockingly, she alleged Kevin Jr. introduced her to this person.

According to Wendy, this woman posed as her over the phone, attempting to gain access to her funds. Fortunately, Wells Fargo flagged the fraud and stopped further money from being stolen.

Despite previously defending her son, Wendy’s tone took a sharp turn when discussing his alleged actions. Holding back tears during the documentary, she shared:

“My son is a good person, but at this point, he is a horrible person to me.”

She also questioned his associations and spending habits, suggesting that he was influenced by others who may have been taking advantage of her wealth.

While Kevin Jr. briefly held Power of Attorney over his mother before the bank intervened, Wendy is now under a legal guardianship—leaving her finances and major life decisions in someone else’s control.

What are your thoughts on Wendy’s claims?
