Kim Kardashian is opening up about the painful reality of her divorce from Kanye “Ye” West.

On the latest episode of The Kardashians, she reflected on how unexpected changes in a partner can make a relationship unsustainable. While discussing Khloé Kardashian’s past with Lamar Odom, Kim shared her own experience. She said:

“I’ve been there when something changes a person’s personality, and they’re not the same. You can’t get that person back, but you also can’t live with the new version of them. I get it.”

Kim filed for divorce in 2021 after seven years of marriage. Though she rarely speaks about their split, she admitted that circumstances forced the marriage to end.

West’s behavior seemingly strained their relationship. His 2020 presidential run, controversial remarks, and public outbursts created tension. At one rally, he revealed that they had considered aborting their first child, North. Kim continued in the episode:

“It’s harder when the marriage doesn’t end for personal reasons but because of circumstances beyond your control.”
