R. Kelly’s Lawyer Slams ‘SNL’ After Singer Was Labeled A ‘Problematic Guest’
R. Kelly’s lawyer is not holding back after Saturday Night Live took aim at the controversial singer during its 50th anniversary special.
In a statement to TMZ, Kelly’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, said,
“[It’s] rather arrogant that SNL sees it as their job to decide, belatedly, who should and should not be canceled.”

This stems from a recent SNL segment, “In Memoriam,” which poked fun at the show’s most controversial moments, listing Kelly alongside figures like Diddy, O.J. Simpson, Jared Fogle, and Robert Blake as “problematic guests.”
The clip featuring Kelly shows him on stage with Lady Gaga during a 2013 episode, with Gaga thanking him for his performance.
While the audience laughed at the segment, Kelly and his attorney didn’t find it funny.
