Wendy’s Says It Has ‘A Ton Of Respect’ For Katy Perry After Shady Comment About Her Trip To Space
Wendy’s is trying to smooth things over after catching heat for a shady post aimed at #KatyPerry’s recent trip to space.
Earlier this week, the fast food chain replied “Can we send her back?” under a post about Katy’s return from her #BlueOrigin flight. Another jab read,
“When we said women in STEM, this isn’t what we meant.”
The shady comments quickly sparked backlash.

A source close to the situation told PEOPLE,
“Wendy’s didn’t make a joke — they made a choice… This wasn’t harmless banter, this was a billion-dollar brand using its platform to publicly demean a woman.”
They added,
“Telling a woman that she should be ‘sent back’ is shameful bullying… and what’s worse is that the face of Wendy’s is a woman.”
In response, Wendy’s said,
“We always bring a little spice to our socials, but Wendy’s has a ton of respect for Katy Perry and her out-of-this-world talent.”
