Beyoncé Lands Favorite Female Country Artist Nomination At The AMAS
Beyoncé’s reign in country music isn’t over just yet!
The American Music Awards dropped their full nominations list earlier today (April 23), and the superstar is holding her own in the country category!
Beyoncé snagged two major nods for Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Country Album for Cowboy Carter.
As you may recall, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter sparked major conversation when it dropped in March 2024. Many praised it as a genre-bending masterpiece, while some questioned whether it should even qualify as a country album.
But love or hate it, Cowboy Carter has been cleaning up this award season! Earlier this year, Beyoncé made history at the Grammys, winning Best Country Album and Album of the Year—her first-ever wins in both categories.
And she’s not done yet. Bey’s also up for Album of the Year at the AMAs, going head-to-head with heavy hitters like Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Future & Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar.

Speaking of Kendrick, he’s running this year’s AMA nominations with 10 nods total, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (GNX), and Song of the Year (“Not Like Us”).
Lamar also dominates the Favorite Hip-Hop Song category—three of the five slots are his, including “Like That,” “Not Like Us,” and “Luther” with SZA. If he sweeps all eight categories he’s eligible for, he could tie with legends like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for most AMA wins in a single night.
Right behind Kendrick, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey all scored seven nominations each. Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, and SZA follow with six apiece.
And of course, Taylor Swift, the all-time AMA queen with 40 wins under her belt, could push that total even higher this year.
The 2025 AMAs will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez live from Las Vegas on CBS. The event will stream on Paramount+, Monday, May 26.
What do y’all think of this year’s nominations? Did your faves make the list?
