84-Year-Old Man Suffers Broken Ribs After Falling 10 Feet From Cross During Crucifixion Reenactment

An elderly Virginia man was critically injured during a Good Friday church event gone wrong.

According to local reports, the 84-year-old man (whose name has not been released) was participating in a crucifixion reenactment with Vandalia Community Christian Church around 12:30 p.m. on April 18 when he fell approximately 10 feet from a cross, suffering serious injuries.

The man, who was not a member of the church but was volunteering for the program, was airlifted to a nearby hospital and admitted to the ICU.

Family members say he suffered broken ribs, but thankfully, he’s now in much better condition. Doctors have confirmed that his injuries are no longer life-threatening.
