Diddy Adds High-Profile Defense Attorney Xavier Donaldson To His Legal Team Just Days Before His S*x Crimes Trial Begins
Just days before jury selection in his federal racketeering and s*x trafficking trial, Sean “Diddy” Combs is strengthening his legal team.
On May 1, his attorneys announced plans to add two new lawyers. A court filing viewed by Complex on May 2 revealed the first: Xavier R. Donaldson. Donaldson, formerly of Donaldson & Chilliest, has defended clients in cases involving “m*rder, narcotic conspiracies, bank fraud…r*pe and domestic v*olence.”
A former Bronx DA, he told the New York State Bar Association in 2019, “People often inquire, ‘How can that lawyer represent that type of person?’… a just society requires that the accused be accorded zealous counsel.”
His passion lies in “complex federal cases.” Donaldson joins a roster that includes Marc Agnifilo, Teny Geragos, Alexandra Shapiro, Jason Driscoll, Anna Maria Estevao, and Brian Steel. Anthony Ricco previously exited the team.
No word yet on the identity of the second new attorney.
Diddy’s trial is scheduled to begin on May 5.
