Diddy’s Lawyers Say Cassie’s $20 Million Abuse Lawsuit ‘Ruined’ His Career

Diddy’s Lawyers Say Cassie’s $20 Million Abuse Lawsuit ‘Ruined’ His Career
The aftermath of Casandra “Cassie” Ventura’s bombshell abuse lawsuit against ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs has now reached the courtroom.
During Cassie’s days-long testimony in the ongoing federal trial against Combs, centered on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, Diddy’s attorneys argued that her 2023 complaint was a major blow to his career.
As reported, Cassie testified that she received a $20 million settlement from her lawsuit. During cross-examination, Diddy’s attorney asked:
“Fair to say his career was ruined after your lawsuit?”
Cassie replied:
“I could understand that, yeah.”

As many will recall, Cassie filed her lawsuit in November 2023, just before the deadline under New York’s Adult Survivors Act. In the complaint, she accused Diddy of physical abuse and claimed he forced her into sexual activities with male prostitutes during drug-fueled events he allegedly referred to as “freak-offs.” The two had been in a relationship for over 10 years.
Although Diddy settled Cassie’s lawsuit within 24 hours, he’s maintained his innocence. The case sparked a wave of public scrutiny and was followed by dozens of additional civil lawsuits and Diddy’s federal indictment. He pleaded not guilty to all federal charges and is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as his trial continues. He reportedly faces life in prison if convicted on all counts.
