Just in! A woman was shot and injured by CIA security officers after she drove up to the front gates of the agency’s headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

According to CNN’s law enforcement source, the incident occurred around 4 a.m. ET Thursday morning (May 22).

The woman, who has not been publicly identified, is now in custody.

It’s not clear what led officers to open fire, but the shooting was described as “non-fatal,” according to a statement from the Fairfax County Police Department. No other details about the woman’s condition were immediately available.

Fairfax Police also confirmed they are “providing traffic support while the CIA conducts its investigation.”

“There was a security incident that law enforcement responded to outside CIA Headquarters,” a CIA spokesperson said. “The main gate is currently closed until further notice. Additional details will be made available as appropriate.”
