Atlanta Strip Club Worker Accused Of DUI Hit-And-Run That K*lled Elderly Businessman + Allegedly Returned To Work After Crash

Portia Taylor, 30, is behind bars without bond after allegedly killing a pedestrian in a DUI hit-and-run crash and continuing her night as if nothing happened.

Atlanta police say Taylor was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when she left her shift at Candyland, a downtown strip club, and sped through the intersection of Peachtree and Baker streets. That’s when she allegedly struck 71-year-old Michael “TC” Crabtree, who was in town for business.

Instead of stopping, Taylor allegedly fled the scene, drove nearly 20 miles into Cobb County, and caused a second crash near the Canton Road connector. Police say she still didn’t stop until officers eventually pulled her over near Town Center Mall.

Inside her vehicle, investigators found an open tequila bottle, marijuana, and ecstasy. Despite the evidence, Taylor was initially released—and reportedly returned to work at Candyland.

But the investigation caught up with her. “She was behind the wheel of the car that killed Mr. Crabtree,” Atlanta police confirmed before arresting her at the club.

Taylor is now facing several serious charges, including vehicular homicide, DUI, and leaving the scene of a deadly crash.

Crabtree’s loved ones remember him as a devoted husband, father, and pillar of his church community in Alabama. His sudden death has devastated his family, while Taylor awaits her fate after nearly a week in jail—and counting.
