R. Kelly Overdosed In His Prison Cell, Rushed to Hospital
R. Kelly’s attorney claims the singer suffered a serious overdose while in solitary confinement, after being given extra medication by prison staff.
According to AllHipHop, the 58-year-old was placed in isolation at a North Carolina prison on Tuesday, June 10. Two days later, on June 12, staff allegedly administered additional medication. The next morning, Kelly reportedly collapsed in his cell, experiencing dizziness, vision loss, and fainting. He was rushed to Duke University Hospital, where doctors determined he had been given a life-threatening dose and kept him under observation for two days.
His legal team now alleges the overdose was intentional and came just days after they accused prison officials of plotting to harm him.
