Eminem’s Stalker Sentenced To Max Of 30 Years For De@th Threats, Repeated Home Invasions & Probation Violations
Matthew David Hughes, the man who repeatedly stalked Eminem and twice broke into his Michigan home, has been sentenced to a maximum of 30 years in prison.
The Detroit Free Press reports Hughes received 15 to 30 years for first-degree home invasion and an additional three to seven years and six months for aggravated stalking. He’ll be eligible for parole after serving at least 18 years.
A jury convicted Hughes in May, with Eminem testifying during the trial. Hughes has been in custody since his August 2024 arrest and was ordered to have no contact with the rapper. He failed to post a $500,000 bond issued that December.
His first break-in occurred in 2020, during which he reportedly told Eminem he was going to k*ll him, according to a detective’s testimony. Hughes later violated a probation deal tied to that incident. He was also arrested in 2019 for trespassing on another Eminem-linked property.
