YNW Melly’s M*rder Retrial Will Begin Sept. 10 Despite Appeals & Multiple Delays
YNW Melly’s m*rder retrial will officially begin on September 10, following a Florida judge’s refusal to delay the proceedings. According to the Sun-Sentinel, jury selection starts that day, with opening statements scheduled for September 16.
Melly faces charges in the 2018 k*llings of his two friends, Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr. and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams. His first trial in July 2023 ended in a hung jury after they were “unable to reach a unanimous decision,” according to a note read in court.
Since then, Melly has made headlines for multiple reasons. In November, he filed a complaint over “cruel treatment” while in custody.
The case has faced several delays. After one in August 2023, Melly reportedly mouthed to his lawyer that he was going “home.” A month later, he was denied bond due to a strong “presumption of guilt.”
Do you think Melly will be found not guilty?
