Nicki Minaj Responds To SZA Saying She Wrote For Her: ‘None Of Us Wanted To Sing Those Sh*t Lyrics’
Nicki Minaj isn’t letting up on SZA.
In a new post on X, Nicki responded to SZA’s claims about her role in “Feeling Myself,” while also revealing that she turned down a song SZA eventually appeared on with Drake and Sexyy Red.
“I wonder if she know I turned down being on the ‘shake dat *ss for Drake’ song,” Nicki wrote. “He wanted me & Sexy on it. I still have the version of just Drake & Sexy. I said I want to wait for PF2 for me & him to do a Dricki song so it felt more special.”
She continued,
“This woman has been trying to tell the world she wrote for Beyoncé every other business day, it would appear.”

Nicki then gave her version of how the “cooking up that bass” moment in “Feeling Myself” came to be:
“I remember me & Beyoncé was going back & forth on the phone about that part of the song. Bey was like, you sing it. I was like, NOOOOO, you sing it. She was like, noooooo, you sing it. I was like, PLEASE!!!!! I can’t sing! Y’all, why Bey said (with a straight face), ‘yes you can’… None of us wanted to sing those sh*t lyrics.”
This follows SZA’s earlier X post, where she wrote:
“Nicki. You absolutely know my music and what I contribute cause you’ve asked for features twice to no response. In addition to rapping my lyrics on Feeling Myself ‘Cooking up the bass looking like a kilo’? Lol ur having a moment.. I’m not sure why but be blessed.”
