Iowa Plane Makes Emergency Landing After ‘Unruly’ Passenger Tries To Open Exit Door Mid-Flight
A 23-year-old man, identified as Mario?Nikprelaj, allegedly tried to open an exit door on Delta Connection flight 3612, operated by SkyWest Airlines, on Thursday, July 17.

The flight, which was headed to Detroit, was forced to divert to Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids after he reportedly got into an altercation with a flight attendant.

Passengers and crew stopped him from opening the door, and police met the plane upon landing, arresting him on multiple charges, including disorderly conduct, assault, and harassment.

“SkyWest has zero tolerance for unruly behavior as safety for our customers and crew is our top priority,” the airline said in a statement, per 7News WWNYTV.
