‘Love Island USA’ Stars Chelley Bissainthe & Olandria Carthen Open Up About Racism & Hate From Being On The Show: ‘They Went Extra Hard’
Chelley Bissainthe and Olandria Carthen are standing up for themselves after receiving an influx of unwarranted hate.
The Love Island USA Season 7 participants sat down with Keke Palmer for a newly aired interview, where they discussed their romantic connections and the drama inside and outside of the villa. The ladies also took time to address the hateful messages they’ve gotten. For those unaware, Chelley, Olandria, and a few other contestants have been on the receiving end of a hate train from viewers unhappy with cast actions during their time in the villa.

Olandria even had to deal with her TikTok account being hacked, and BuzzFeed recently retracted a media post that said they would serve Chelley a fruit bowl, a “knuckle sandwich,” and Goldfish crackers, “in case Ace gets fussy” for breakfast.
During their sit-down, Olandria said she doesn’t understand why their haters “went extra hard.” Speaking on the post from BuzzFeed, Chelley added:
“That was crazy. …I’m like, ‘Why am I eating a knuckle sandwich, what I do to y’all?'”
After getting backlash for the post, BuzzFeed pulled the carousel and said,
“We recently published a post that was offensive and did not meet Tasty’s and BuzzFeed’s high level of editorial standards. The post has been removed and we are taking steps to ensure this does not happen again.”
What do you think? Did Love Island USA fans do too much this season?
