Marlon Wayans Honors Hulk Hogan Amid Backlash Over Late Wrestler’s Racist Past: ‘Iconic, Far From Perfect, Flawed As Hell’
Marlon Wayans took to Instagram to honor wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, sharing a touching and honest tribute.
“The Hulkster. Iconic, far from perfect. Flawed as hell… but you and Macho Man were my favorite wrestlers,” he wrote. Wayans reflected on Hogan’s complex legacy, acknowledging both admiration and humanity. “I hope y’all leg locking or piledriving each other in the afterlife,” he added, referencing Hogan’s longtime wrestling partner and rival, Randy “Macho Man” Savage.
Wayans also shared a spiritual note, writing, “Glad you found Jesus before you passed. And I hope that gave you peace.” He closed with Hogan’s signature catchphrase: “Rest well ‘brother.’”
The Hulk passed away this week and many only took a moment to revisit his racist past and remarks.
