Diddy’s Legal Team Confirms Talks w/ Trump Over Possible Pardon Ahead Of October Sentencing: ‘We’ve Reached Out & Had Conversations’
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ attorneys have initiated talks with Donald Trump’s team regarding a possible presidential pardon, according to Diddy’s lawyer Nicole Westmoreland.
“It’s my understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,” Westmoreland told CNN. She added that Diddy “is a very hopeful person and I believe that he remains hopeful” Trump will grant it.
This comes just days after Trump stated, “Nobody’s asked but I know people are thinking about it.” He added, “I think some people have been very close to asking.”
The topic of a pardon has circulated since the start of Combs’ trial. Although he was acquitted of s*x-trafficking and racketeering charges, he was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Trump, speaking to Newsmax, said Combs was “essentially, sort of, half-innocent,” but added the pardon was “more likely a no.” Still, he noted, “I would certainly look at the facts.”
Combs’ sentencing is scheduled for October 3.
Do you think Diddy will get his pardon?
