KFC Has Revived Potato Wedges, But Some Fans Are Demanding Another Iconic Menu Item: ‘Now Bring Back Them BBQ Wings’
KFC is answering years of fan pleas with the return of its beloved Potato Wedges.
Starting August 18, the crispy, seasoned side will once again be available at locations nationwide after a five-year hiatus.
Introduced in the mid-1990s, Potato Wedges became a staple for KFC lovers through the early 2000s before being replaced by Secret Recipe Fries in 2020. Their removal sparked an outcry, with customers flooding social media to demand their comeback.
“Wedge-lovers, we heard you — and we agree it’s been five long years without wedges. But the wait is over,” said KFC U.S. President Catherine Tan-Gillespie. “This isn’t just a nostalgic nod. It’s an example of how we’re turning feedback into action as we chart our Kentucky Fried Comeback.”
The wedges can be ordered on their own, swapped for any side, or enjoyed in the new six-piece Wings & Wedges combo, which includes a medium drink. Secret Recipe Fries will remain on the menu.
While the Potato Wedges’ return has thrilled many, fans online are now rallying for another comeback, urging KFC to bring back its Honey Barbecue Wings.
Will you be trying the wedges?
