Cardi B recently took a moment to reflect on how far she’s come in life, and how much her journey means to her.
In a candid social media video, the Grammy-winning rapper opened up about the financial struggles she faced growing up in poverty, recalling how limited she was when it came to things like shoes, and how she had to walk to get free lunch during the summer.

Despite those early challenges, Cardi expressed pride in what she’s accomplished, saying she feels honored to represent her “people,” “borough,” and “state.” She admitted that even she’s surprised by how much her life has transformed, saying: “I really can’t f***ing believe it. I’m here though.”
