A body was discovered Monday morning (Sept. 15) on the campus of #DeltaState University in Cleveland, Mississippi, leading officials to cancel all classes and campus events for the day.

Authorities are investigating the incident, though no immediate threat to students or staff has been reported. Details are limited at this time, but local outlets have shared that the deceased was a 21-year-old male student from Grenada, #Mississippi. While his name has not yet been released publicly, his family has reportedly confirmed his identity on Facebook and is asking for privacy during this difficult time.

In a statement, Delta State assured the community that the campus remains secure while the investigation continues. Counseling and support services are being made available to students, faculty, and staff.
