The NFL has fined the Kansas City Chiefs tight end $14,491 for making an inappropriate move during the team’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 14. While celebrating a 23-yard gain, Travis gestured animatedly to his groin and appeared to direct the moment toward Philadelphia’s sideline.
The incident was ultimately ruled an “obscene gesture” by the NFL, which announced in August that it would be cracking down on signals considered to be unsportsmanlike, v!olent and s3xually suggestive. Even worse, Travis’ move might have been pointless, as the Chiefs lost to the Eagles 20-17.
