HBCU Southern University Suspends Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Following Hazing &
Misconduct Allegations
#AlphaPhiAlphaFraternityInc.’s Beta Sigma chapter at Southern University in Baton Rouge has been suspended and placed under a “cease and desist” order amid allegations of misconduct.
Reportedly, campus police are investigating to determine whether members violated the school’s hazing policy and Student Code of Conduct. This comes after #OmegaPsiPhi was expelled from the campus due to the reported hazing de@th of Caleb Wilson.
The order bars all chapter activities and member participation in campus-oriented events until the probe is complete. Chancellor John Pierre told local news “This is a very serious precaution. We take these kinds of things very seriously. Allegations of hazing will not be tolerated at Southern University.” If the investigation finds violations, the chapter could face extended sanctions or even permanent removal.
